Bogey came first
A hard start, then a home
Bogey started life as a Molokai rescue from HARPF as a puppy. The full story isn’t known, but he was clearly mistreated by kids.
His first adopted family loved him very much for about two and a half years, until they fell apart. Bogey became more of a burden than a family member.
For a year and a half his name was changed and he lived with only one of them. Then, unfortunately, even they couldn’t keep him anymore.
I saw a post on Facebook and immediately connected.
Bogey came to visit twice — and the third time, he stayed.
Then came Blu
The most recent family member
Blu’s first family got him from MHS — the Maui Humane Society. He was supposed to be a small terrier in the ten-pound range, to go with the family’s older thirteen-year-old terrier.
Unfortunately, Blu turned out to be a Greyhound mix — sixty-five pounds and more energy than any four dogs combined.
His family was finally given a place to live back Lahaina side, but it would basically be a trailer. They were afraid he’d have no space or room — and he very much needs both.
I saw a post on Facebook for him and immediately connected.
Two days later, Blu became our latest family member — and we couldn’t be happier.

Exactly where they belong
Both dogs found their way here through a Facebook post and an immediate connection. Today they have space to run, room to rest, and each other.
